Diagnostic Procedure
Blood Tests
On-site blood draw and laboratory testing for a wide range of health screenings and diagnostic purposes.
Blood tests are among the most important diagnostic tools in modern medicine. They provide a detailed look at your overall health by measuring blood cell counts, organ function, hormone levels, nutrient levels, blood sugar, cholesterol, infection markers, and much more. At Garden State Medical Group, we offer on-site blood draw services at both our North Bergen and Secaucus locations.
Common blood tests ordered during routine check-ups include the complete blood count (CBC), comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP), lipid panel, hemoglobin A1C, thyroid function tests, vitamin D levels, and urinalysis. These tests help your provider screen for conditions such as anemia, diabetes, kidney disease, liver disease, thyroid disorders, and cardiovascular risk.
Your provider may also order specialized blood tests based on your symptoms, medical history, or ongoing treatment. These may include inflammatory markers (CRP, ESR), autoimmune panels, hormone levels, blood clotting tests, cancer markers, and infectious disease testing. Blood work is also essential for monitoring the effectiveness and safety of certain medications.
The blood draw itself is quick, taking only a few minutes. A trained phlebotomist will draw a small sample from a vein in your arm. Results for most standard panels are available within a few business days. Your provider will contact you to discuss your results and any recommended follow-up.
Having on-site blood draw capabilities means you do not need to travel to a separate laboratory. You can have your blood work done during the same visit as your check-up or diagnostic appointment. Call Garden State Medical Group at (201) 453-2800 to schedule your blood work or to ask about fasting requirements.
