Lung Health Program

The Lung Health Program at Garden State Medical Group provides comprehensive evaluation and management of pulmonary conditions including asthma, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), chronic bronchitis, emphysema, pulmonary fibrosis, and sleep-disordered breathing. Our goal is to help you breathe easier and maintain an active, fulfilling life.

Diagnosis is the first step. Our in-house diagnostic tools include pulmonary function testing (PFT), which measures your lung capacity and airflow to identify the type and severity of your respiratory condition. We also offer chest X-rays, arterial blood gas analysis, and coordinate lung cancer screenings and sleep studies when indicated.

For patients with chronic lung conditions, our program emphasizes ongoing management including medication optimization (inhalers, nebulizers, and oral medications), breathing technique education, pulmonary rehabilitation guidance, and smoking cessation support. We work with you to develop an action plan for managing flare-ups and recognizing when to seek emergency care.

Environmental factors play a significant role in respiratory health. Our providers counsel patients on reducing exposure to allergens, pollutants, and occupational hazards that can worsen lung disease. We also address the intersection of lung health with other conditions such as heart failure, obesity, and sleep apnea.
